Institutional Capacity Assessment and Institutional Development Training- Water and Wastewater Unit within JSCPD in West Bethlehem

RAMALLAH – Head of Water Authority Minister Mazen Ghoneim met at his office today with Mr. Geza Mijani, Representative of Hungary, to discuss current and future cooperation between the two countries with respect to supporting water projects and institutional cooperation, the Minister also briefed him about the developments that Water Authority has managed to complete for this vitally important sector.

Minister Ghoneim, presented a series of achievements of the Water Authority either at the institutional level of the Palestinian Water Authority, or the work in the development of water and sanitation sector, and promoting it through what has been achieved on the ground by the implementation of vital and strategic projects. He also mentioned the developmental plan of the Water Authority especially the developmental steps for the coming years, which requires the implementation of more important, specific projects that requires the cooperation between various parties and the donor countries to secure the necessary financial support.

Minister Ghoneim also praised the cooperation between the two countries and assured the need for more cooperation, especially in the exchange of experts and promoting  the capacity building, noting the importance of highlighting the issue of water in Palestine in international forums as well as taking advantage of the international treaties and conventions regarding water to ensure the Palestinians' right in the water issue under Israeli procedure aiming to continue controlling over the water sources.
