Prime Minister Dr. Rami Al-Hamdallah, paid an inspection visit to the water authority headquarters in Ramallah, where he met with the head of the Authority Eng. Mazen Ghoneim, managers and employees, and briefed on the most important projects implemented, future plans of the Water Authority in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to the obstacles and difficulties facing the work of their crews.

He stressed the priority of the water sector for the leadership and the government, within the national policy agenda, in order to strengthen the resilience of citizens on their land, through the provision of clean and drinkable water at the lowest cost

The Prime Minister pointed out that efforts should be made to overcome the problems of water shortages and outages in many Palestinian areas and to take into account distribution tables of population density in each region.

Al-Hamdallah reiterated his emphasis on the need to expedite the implementation of the project of the central desalination plant in the Gaza Strip, especially after the success of collecting 80% of the estimated cost of the project during the donor conference held in Brussels recently, in addition to the need to establish dams, wells and ponds in the West Bank to provide larger amount of water to serve the citizens.
