Signing a memorandum of understanding between the states of Palestine and Iraq to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of water resources.

Minister Ghunaim and Iraqi Minister of Water Resources Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop and strengthen cooperation in the field of water resources, in the implementation of the resolution of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water on the development of the water sector in Palestine.

The memorandum aims to strengthen and enhance the support provided by the Republic of Iraq to the water sector in Palestine in terms of water resources development, capacity-building, and the exchange of scientific and practical experiences in all areas of water and its technology, in addition to establishing a strong cooperative relationship on the basis of equality and mutual benefit in the areas of joint cooperation.

The areas of cooperation include scientific research, development, modern technology, institutional capacity development, and the building and qualification of research and technical staff to enhance trained and qualified human resources in the field of water technology.

Ghunaim praised the bilateral relationship that crystallized in the Memorandum of Understanding with the brotherly State of Iraq, which represents a continuation of cooperation with Arab countries, Prior to this, Ghunaim signed other agreements with a number of countries aimed at exchanging technical expertise to serve the development of the Palestinian water sector.
