Minister Ghoneim discusses with the Singaporean ambassador the prospects for cooperation between the two countries

Ramallah: Head of Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghoneim, met in his office today the Singaporean ambassador Mr.Huazei Deby and his assistant  Mr.Kenny Tan to discuss prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries, particularly in exchanging experiences and promoting capacity building programs in the areas of Water treatment and desalination.

Eng. Ghoneim welcomed the Singapore Government initiative by opening prospects for cooperation and benefit from Singapore's experience in the development of wastewater treatment and use of energy in various forms to serve this field, and reviewed their experiences in the field of water desalination, especially as we in Palestine now intensify our efforts to implement the central desalination plant project to be established in Gaza Strip, we intensify the work in the sanitation and wastewater treatment plants where we were able to implement a number of treatment plants, and work is ongoing on implementing other stations serving different communities and contribute to the achievement of great benefit as a result of the reuse of treated water and utilized over the long term.

For his part, Mr.Huazei stressed the readiness of Singapore Government to support the Palestinian needs and provide the necessary programs and capabilities in accordance with the Water Authority plan and the priorities it monitors to reflect this cooperation on the ground and to benefit from the experience of both parties in the areas of development.
