The Steering Committee of the Water and Energy Project holds its third meeting

Ramallah - Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) held today the third meeting of the Steering Committee of the Water and Energy Link Project in the presence of representatives of donor countries from the French Agency and the European Union and with the participation of local bodies covered by the project, Tubas and northwest of Jenin, where the project is one of the largest and most important projects on the national level.

The project aims to improve water and sanitation services in the service area of the Joint Drinking Water and Sanitation Services Council - Tubas, and the Service Area of the Joint Drinking Water Service Council for villages west of Jenin, as well as providing alternatives and options to achieve sufficiency and independence in the water and energy sectors as a pillar and foundation for building a Palestinian state. This paves the way for renewable energy to solve the energy crisis in Palestine, future energy sources for wastewater treatment and purification plants, in addition to improving sustainable access to water supply and sanitation networks as well as “expanding wastewater management” and the strategic objectives of the Palestinian Authority Strategic Development Plan 2017-2022.

The project contributes to the rehabilitation and expansion of the water and sanitation system in the service area of the Joint Service Council for Drinking Water and Sanitation of Tubas and the villages west of Jenin, and to support and strengthen the role of national institutions and service providers in improving operation and management, in addition to improving the capacity of water service providers to operate and maintain the water supply network.
