Active participation of the Water Sector Youth Committee in the International Water Week in the Netherlands

Representatives of the Water Sector Youth Committee, established by the Water Authority last year as part of its vision to invest in youth sector, participated in the International Water Week events in the Netherlands, in coordination with the Dutch Water Authority, and through the Netherlands Representative Office in Ramallah, as a partner in supporting and developing the water sector.

The two teams, which include members of the Water Sector Youth Committee, ranked second and third in the challenge, in which 26 contestants were distributed to 6 teams of students and young professionals specialized in the field of water from 12 countries. The goal of the challenge was to motivate young people to think creatively and develop their abilities to develop innovative solutions to the real problems faced by some regions around the world.

It is worth mentioning that the International Water Week in the Netherlands brought together representatives, international specialists, and experts in the water sector around the world to present their achievements and challenges in the water sector. The participation of Palestine was an opportunity to transfer expertise and knowledge to keep up with the latest ideas and developments from the countries participating in this event and transfer them to the water sector in Palestine.

The Water Authority organized the first Water Creativity Challenge last April, in partnership with the Dutch Representative Office, the Norwegian Representative Office, and the World Bank, in which 127 young people from Palestine participated, and presented ideas and innovations in the water sector.
