During the opening of the West Bank Water Department Office in the South, Minister Ghoneim : We'll keep working to end the water crisis

Ramallah: Head of Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghneim opened today the West Bank Water Department Office, in the presence of the South local Government Department Director Rashid Awad, numbers of Heads of local authorities in Hebron, representative of Hebron Governorate and the leaders of the security services in the province.

The office was opened due to the special importance is given by the Water Authority to the South as the poorest in water, and to enable the water authority crews to keep up close to many tasks which are: follow the work distribution and network maintenance, change counters and follow-up loss and water abuse in addition to maintenance of wells and South stations in all of Hebron and Bethlehem.

Minister Ghoneim opened his speech stressing that the governorate of Hebron is one of the most provinces that  suffer from lack of water and special attention is given to this province by the Palestinian Government to alleviate the crisis, noting that, despite all the obstacles from occupation we were able to achieve many projects mainly Deir-shaar water line project which contributed to alleviate the crisis, we managed to improve the water situation in the province over the past year through equitable distribution program  which the water authority aimed to achieve  justice in the water for all Palestinian communities.

He added that there are many projects that are implemented to improve the water situation but at the same time Hebron still suffer from the problem of violations of water lines and causing lost up to 20 thousand cups a day leading to deprive citizens of their water, so the water authority in cooperation with the security services work to pursue the campaign and hold the aggressors.

The Minister stressed that the Israeli occupation is always trying to put obstacles in front of us to deprive us of our rights and prevent our access to water security which is the basis of the Palestinian State, and the cornerstone of Palestinian national security.

The Minister praised the efforts of the water authority crews who are always in the field and follow closely any emergency to ensure the service to the citizen.
