Not Everything That Falls… Stays. 🌧️
Across the highlands of the West Bank, every raindrop begins a different journey. Some flow over the land surface toward the Mediterranean Basin to the west, or toward the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea to the east. Others infiltrate through layers of rock, contributing to groundwater recharge, while part of the water returns to the atmosphere through evaporation and evapotranspiration.
Here, we highlight how topography and slope directions influence the pathways of rainfall, as part of an interconnected and continuous water cycle.
🌧️ Every drop has a pathway… and understanding that pathway is the first step toward managing and protecting our water resources.
