Minister Al-Mimi Reviews Al-Shuyukh Municipality’s Water Needs

Ramallah: Head of the Palestinian Water Authority, Dr. Ziad Mimi, met with the Mayor of Al-Shuyukh and members of the Municipal Council to review the municipality’s water needs and priorities.

The meeting focused on several key water projects aimed at improving water supply and completing water infrastructure.

During the meeting, the municipality requested support for including a proposed regional water reservoir serving the Sa’ir and Al-Shuyukh areas among the projects proposed for funding. The reservoir is considered a priority for enhancing water storage capacity and improving the reliability of water supply in the area.

The discussions also addressed the provision of prepaid water meters for the municipality through a set-off mechanism, with the aim of improving water service management and promoting more efficient water consumption.

The municipality further highlighted its need for the pipes required to complete a water project in the area. Providing the necessary materials would enable the remaining works to be completed and allow the municipality to benefit from the project.
