"Participating in launching the forum of " Water Development Financing in the Middle East and North Africa Forum

 

A delegation from the Water Authority, headed by Dr. Ziyad al-Mimi, Head of Water Authority, participated in the “Water Development Financing in the Middle East and North Africa Forum”, held in Kuwait and organized by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development in partnership with the World Bank.

The forum, jointly organized by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and the World Bank, aimed to address the water crisis in the Middle East and North Africa, and to support efforts to increase water availability and promote growth through innovative and smart water solutions.

In his speech, the Minister called upon the international community to support the efforts of the Palestinian government in relief operations and reconstruction, expediting the habilitation of the infrastructure for water sector and sanitation network. He emphasized that the Palestinian government works incessantly to guarantee the provision of basic services for citizens, despite the ongoing aggression. He emphasized the necessity of Arab countries to support these efforts to secure pillars of success at the political and financial level.

The forum brought together a group of Ministers of water in the Arab Coordination Group and experts from the World Bank, in addition to leaders in water sectors to discuss and enhance means of cooperation to encounter water challenges, innovate in funding and smart climate projects and implement necessary reforms.
